Marc spent his childhood summers in Alligator, Mississippi, where he was inspired by the rustic-but-elegant, tenant-house furniture made from whatever material farmers had at hand. He’s been making and selling furniture since 1990. His signature style stems from letting the reclaimed wood determine what it will become: a bed, bench, dining table, side table, bookshelf, cabinet, desk, or barstool. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, made to last, and branded with his signature. High profile clients from NFL football players to movie stars have commissioned furniture from him. He built a conference table for the Honors College at the University of Mississippi, an entrance table for the FedEx house at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, a dining room table for a Southern Living Idea House that appeared on the cover of the magazine. He’s been featured on television shows such as HGTV and in numerous publications. He was the artist-in-residence, shop manager, and instructor at Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont, for over two years and the owner of Taylor Arts Gallery for over 20. He now works and travels with his wife Christine in their StudioTruck and Sportsmobile. They’re Vermont-based for the warm months and travel South for the winter. He works closely with clients to match his furniture to their taste and decor. To talk to Marc about custom making a piece for you call 662-832-7958 or email info@taylorarts.com.
