Handmade Gold Fish on Reclaimed Cypress

75.00

Dimensions: 7.5" long x 6.5" tall by 2" thick. Weighs 1 pound.

This reclaimed wood gold fish is the perfect Mississippi folk art to bring color and whimsy to your wall. I hand painted it with professional acrylics. My husband, Marc Deloach, made it from cypress he salvaged from the Mississippi Delta. Great gift for guys or girls or kids, for a housewarming or baby shower, or a happy present for yourself.

Special Features: I painted the gold scales over a black base for depth and painted the sides to create a multi-dimensional effect. He's got black fins and tail with copper or white stripes. His eye and lips are copper colored. He's made from relatively smooth reclaimed barn wood with some original texture. A real catch. Ready to ship.

Hang this fish anywhere--in the office, dining room, kitchen, kids’ rooms, over doorways and stairways, in bathrooms and bedrooms, covered porches, lake houses, or wherever you’d like a pop of color and whimsy. One is great. Groupings are even better. Check here for other fish: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TaylorArts?section_id=7670153

On the back: Marc nailed a notched metal hanger over a drilled circle, so the fish will hang flush to the wall from a single nail or screw head. He will also stand upright on a flat surface. You can see the salvaged wood on back. My signature, Christine Schultz, is there, as well.

Care and handling: While these fish are fun and durable, they’re not meant as playthings for kids or to hold up outside directly in the weather, although a covered porch is fine. We're happy to custom make fish. Just ask.
