This yellow painted wood fish is the perfect Mississippi folk art to bring color and whimsy to your walls or shelf. I, Christine Schultz, handpainted it with professional acrylics. My husband, Marc Deloach, made it from cypress he salvaged from the Mississippi Delta. Great gift for guys, girls or kids, for a housewarming or baby shower, or a happy present for yourself. This canary yellow fish is over a foot long. He's got a black fin and tail. His eye, lips, and gill are orange. He's made from relatively smooth reclaimed barn wood with some original textures and an angle on the top fin. He'll hang flat on a wall. I painted the sides to create a multi-dimensional effect. A real catch. Ready to ship.
Hang this fish anywhere--in the office, dining room, kitchen, kids’ rooms, over doorways and stairways, in bathrooms and bedrooms, covered porches, lakehouses, or wherever you’d like a pop of color and whimsy. One is great. Groupings are even better.
On the back: Marc nailed a notched metal hanger over an inletted drilled circle, so the fish will hang flush to the wall balanced from a single nail or screw head. You can see the salvaged wood on back. My signature, Christine Schultz, is there, as well.
Care and handling: While these fish are fun and durable, they’re not meant as playthings for kids or to hold up outside directly in the weather, (although a covered porch is fine). We're happy to custom make fish. Just ask.
